One week out of every month, it’s your time of the month. Periods are never convenient and come with side effects. Some of these side effects include: cramps, headaches, swollen breasts and vaginal dryness. While your time of the month may not be your favorite, there are ways to make it more bearable.
Supplements
If you know that you suffer from vaginal dryness during or after your period, you can take daily supplements to combat it. These daily supplements will help rid vaginal dryness and painful intercourse with oils from sea berry.
Drink More Water
On your period, you may feel bloated and water seems like it would only make it worse. Even if you don’t feel like it, it is important to drink water. You don’t want to be dehydrated while on your period, because dehydration will not only make you more bloated, but will also make your cramps more painful. Stay hydrated.
Exercise
Exercise may be the solution to many health problems, and it is just as helpful during your period. If you suffer from cramps during your period, get out and exercise. Your body releases endorphins while you exercise, which turns into a natural pain killer.
There are many different ways you can exercise. Don’t do the same thing every day. Schedule ahead on Monday to do yoga in the morning before work. For Tuesday, plan ahead to go for a run before getting your day going. Whatever exercise you choose, it will help eliminate your cramps.
Take Anti-Inflammatory Before Your Period
Typically, your period happens the same time every month. If you know your time of the month is coming up, start taking anti-inflammatories, such as Advil before your period hits. This will help decrease the initial pain from cramps and other symptoms associated with periods.
Chocolate and Coffee
The last thing you want to hear is that you need to avoid your two favorite things during your period. Unfortunately, coffee and chocolate can make your period worse. The caffeine in coffee and chocolate make the uterus tighten and make cramping worse. Even though you may be craving chocolate on your period, try to avoid it.
